Enroute the Brans visited with another brother in Los Angeles. Many pleasant affairs are being planned for the guests.

December 1, 1950—"Congregation Beth Jacob," Southwestern Jewish Press, page 7: Mr. and Mrs. Morrie Kraus were welcomed home bythe Beth Jacob Congregation. We were honored at the Penn Bar Mitzvah by having Mr. Kraus, our 1st Vice President and Mr. William Smith, Past President of the Orthodox Synagogue of Danville, Illinois on the bimah. A Beth Jacob Youth Group has been formed by the Beth Jacob Sisterhood. Youth from 12 to 15 are cordially invited to contact Anne Godes at B 2-2220 for information. At the last meeting and dance, the following temporary officers were elected. President: Don Gobernick, Vice President, Lennie Weiss; Secretary, Donna Godes; Treasurer, Stan Camiel and Marion Feinberg, advisor.  The next meeting will be at Beth Jacob, Sunday, December 3rd at 2 p.m. The members will then go to Presidio Park for a picnic. The confirmation class is planning a Youth Carnival for December 17th in the Beth Jacob Auditorium. A pleasant evening is promised.

May 25, 1951—1) "Confirmation at Tifereth Israel Scheduled for Sunday, June 10th," Southwestern Jewish Press, page 6: A capacity attendance is expected at the beautiful Confirmation Services for the Class of 5711, which will take place at Tifereth Israel Synagogue on Shavuouth, June 10, at 8 p.m.  Members of the group to be confirmed are: Morton Barancik, Estelle Berwin, Roger Brenes, Stanton Camiel, Frances Gibson, Dorothy Hess, Al Neumann, Sherrill Newman, Cecille Oglesby, Norman Panish, Lawrence Schiller, Robert Meyers and David Levens.  The class will conduct the Festival Service and will present a symposium on the theme, "What is Judaism?" A reception honoring the confirmants will be tendered by their parents following the services. All are cordially invited.

2) "A.Z.A.," Southwestern Jewish Press, page 7: A.Z.A. was privileged to have the opportunity of hearing a lecture on juvenile delinquency May 1, by Dr. Kenneth Bernhart, head of the Sociology Department at State College. Following the lecture, there was a question and answer period which was very informative and which was greatly enjoyed by the audience. The B.B.G. pot luck dinner of April 14, at the home of a member, was attended by many members of A.Z.A. including Al Gardner, Stanton Camiel, Norman Panish, Morton Boransik (sic, Barancik),  David Levens, Dick Goddess (sic, Godes) and myself Bob Meyers.

May 30, 1952—"Magic Carpet Day Huge Success—Workers Raise $9,500 In Single Day," Southwestern Jewish Press, page 1: A gift of two cents from five year old Billy Rubin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Rubin, a $400 contribution from an elderly gentlemen living at the YMCA; a statement by several Jews that they were not interested, a $5.00 gift from a lady who said that she was not Jewish but wanted to do her part, the excellent breakfast served by the Jolly Sixteen, the food donated by the Bohemian Rye Bakery, the enthusiasm of all the workers and the colonels, the generosity of the Temple in permitting use of the Temple Center during their Sunday School, were all high spots of the Magic Carpet Day operation held on Sunday, May 18th. Over 350 contributors were secured from 913 cards for a total sum of $9,500, according to the latest report.  The door  to door solicitation which began at 10:45 was finished at 4:30 p.m. with the following team results: Team 1: Col.
