Community Foundation, page 26: The Jewish Women's Foundation of San
Diego (JWF) provides innovative and creative funding to benefit and enhance the
lives of Jewish women and girls locally and around the world. The JWF involves a
diverse group of women of all ages, backgrounds and interests united by the
strength of their commitment to Jewish women and girls in need. Thanks to a
three-year grant from the JWF, single parents have a resource, advocate and
helping hand through the Supporting Jewish Single Parents (SJSP) program at
Jewish Family Service. In the last year, more than 75 single parents have been
welcomes in the Jewish community and provided with resources and advocacy.
Beyond the program, the JWF is dedicated to being a voice for single mothers
throughout the Jewish community. JWF efforts have led to childcare being offered
for the first time at several community events and a growing communal awareness
