July 6, 1951—
"The Cradle," Southwestern Jewish Press, page 3: Grandpa Max Brody knew all the answers when the Jewish Press called for information about his new grandson. Gordon Louis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Gerson, was born at Mercy Hospital on June 21st. He weighted 8 lbs., 11 oz. Maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Brody, of San Diego, and greatgrandmother Sarah Brody, of New York.

October 15, 1987 -- "Gordon L. Gerson New President of La Jolla JCC," San Diego Jewish Times, p.11: Gordon L. Gerson has been elected president of the La Jolla Jewish Community Center.  Ed Friedman, past president from 1983 to 1987, explains, "I feel very confident in turning over the leadership of our new community facility to such an experienced member of our Board." Gerson has served as avice president of the Board of Managers of the La Jolla JCC for the past year, serving  as the chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee. Gerson has been an active Board member of the United Jewish Federation, the Jewish Community Relations Council and Jewish Family Service.  Gerson is an attorney and partner with the firm of Lorber, Grady, Farley, Jensen & Volk and lives in Del Mar with his wife, Maria, and two daughters..  "I am very excited about leading our Board in its efforts to develop new and dynamic programs for the coming two years," says Gerson. "Everyone in the community should feel free to contact me or Marsha Alex Lubick at 457-3030 to give us ideas on how to better sserve the community."
