Chabad of La Costa—Upsherin—An upsherin party celebrating the third birthday of Dovid Eilfort, son of Rabbi Yeruchem and Nehama Eilfort, will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, at Chabad of La Costa, 1980 La Costa Avenue. Traditionally this is the birthday that a child begins his formal Jewish education and receives his first haircut. “Everyone is invited to partake in the festivities, which will include a barbecue, large bounce house and lots of food and games for everyone,” said the proud papa, Rabbi Eilfort.
